The Met

The Met

The Met is a place where beauty hits you right in the face. I spent a gorgeous spring Saturday wandering around the museum. At times, I was ready to leave just by pure exhaustion from how big all of it is, and then a few steps to the left and I am looking at a Van Gogh or Monet. Or a replica of a Frank Lloyd Wright design. Or the most wonderful statue, etc, etc. I needed this beauty right now. I needed to be overwhelmed by paintings that took me to Paris, the American South, or the Monterey Peninsula. I was drawn a lot of times to art that was familiar to me or reminded of something I had seen or felt. Or that gave me some sort of comfort. Monet’s paintings was by far the art I will forever be grateful to have seen and taken in - I still can’t get over the simplistic beauty.

New York is slowly beginning to come to life again. I look up and see little buds on the trees and I am taking in all of the color and sunshine. This last Saturday was a good day.

Here are some of the pieces that I loved and was drawn to…
