I’m now back in the city after a much needed visit home. Everything was different and the same in Fresno. All of these contradicting feelings existing at once. My realization now is that my heart is in two places now, and that’s ok. In fact, that is how I want it to be. Seeing my friends and family was just what I needed. It felt right and perfect to finally be with my best friends, drinking wine on the river, laughing with my family at Thanksgiving dinner, going to favorite spots in town, and having a couple quiet nights home with my parents. Leaving to come back to NYC was bittersweet. I was excited to get back and realized just how much I have fallen in love with the city, but I also dreaded saying goodbye to my family and friends. Thankfully, Christmas is right around the corner!
